Erin and I went in early this morning as I had to sign in at 8:30 at the hospital. I then went down to the hand clinic where the doctor removed the splint and after checking my hand said that I had sprained/partially torn my UCL(Ulnar Collateral Ligament). He said the good news is that I wouldn't need surgery but would need a spica splint to wear for six weeks. So, it was kind of disappointing news as I was hoping it was just tender from getting hit and would heal soon. Now, I am kind of useless here for six weeks...blah. I'm not really supposed to use my left hand at all. I asked the O.T. hopeful that I could maybe start doing some work but I'm supposed to rest it and give it time to heal. Seems we are especially busy this time year so I guess I'll just have to try and work my right hand double time when my shoulder starts feeling better. At least it happened to my left hand.

So, no music practice(just bought a guitar book and started teaching myself the guitar two days before this all happened), sewing, cell grazing, most garden work, etc. I was planning on getting some sewing and stuff done before I go on my trip but the splint will only be coming off the week before. Eek! Oh well, I'll just do what I can.

Oh, I can understand how frustrating that would be!! I wonder if a spica splint is like Yehoshua's spica cast... can't get wet at all?? I'll keep praying for you to heal quickly!!

I thought his looked a little different if my memory serves me correctly?? Might be wrong though. Kind of peach coloured with holes?

You would have had it waaaay tougher than me though. I remember you dealing with sores and stuff and just constant around-the-clock care. And you had a newborn too! :)

Can't get it wet but at least I can easily remove it. The harder part is actually trying to do anything when I have to take the splint off for a shower and such. I can't move it much without putting any pressure close to my thumb/index finger which really hurts. :P I'll survive! :) Sure appreciate the prayers!

Thanks. I'm just taking it easy(as much as I can! :)) and I think I'm feeling a little improvement.
