Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends. :)

I was going to sit down and actually write a post last night but then we ran out of water. Erin and I hauled a couple loads and didn't get in until just before 1 AM.

The past couple months have been mostly filled with cattle work: selling, buying, processing, hauling, treating, building corrals, etc. It has slowed down somewhat but we still keep busy. Erin and I go down to Graham's every morning and check for sick calves. This morning was the first time we haven't had to treat any for quite a while.

This past week Graham, Erin and I finished winterizing the spruce trees up here. I had only done about a 1/4 of them and we were needing to get it done before as it was supposed to turn cold. We placed our potted spruce trees together in rows five or six wide (length varied in rows between five to 25) and then we left spaces between them to walk and give us room to weed. We were putting sand around and inbetween the pots which will insulate the tree for the winter so they don't die. Erin and I put loose straw around the outside edges yesterday and now we are done with the exception of a few edges that we want to put some small straw bales around. It feels SO good to have that job behind me.

Friday we finally got around to having our Thanksgiving turkey dinner. It was back around the beginning of October but Mom's turkeys were still running around so we wanted to wait. LOL! I made apple cider to go along with dessert. Mmm, there is something comforting about a warm cup of cider. :)

Today I did some cleaning, made chili, and started working on some cards. Tomorrow will probably be more of the same. :)

Other than that not much else has been going on here. A cold front came in and we actually had some snow today. Yesterday was in the -20 C range with windchill. Brr!

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you all had a nice, relaxing day. We had turkey dinner with all the trimmings and pumpkin pie. Mom made apple cider in the crock pot and I'm enjoying a cup right now. :)

Did you notice the Google search has a nice Thanksgiving scene? I finally switched my home page over to Google. My laptop came with Overture set as the homepage and that was useless as a toothpick when it came to doing about any search.

Anyhoo, hopefully I'll be around one of these days to give more of a real post.
