A flurry of activity here today

Dad wanted to watch the TEAM(The Electronic Auction Market) so I brought my laptop down to Graham's. There was about 5,000 head selling today so it took about 2 hours for the sale.

Erin has gone in to town for KFC as the Hutterites are here harvesting Graham's crop. They came a little earlier than expected which was good. There are 3 combines and 2 trucks going so the work will probalby be done in a couple hours. The weather is very pleasant-cooler without wind. I told Erin to bring the camera as I left it at home. I took several pictures of the harvest last year but never got around to posting them. I never did bother posting them when I finally got the time as usually journals are more for the present...not the past. LOL! Instead of this is what happened today, this is what happened a year ago. That Lindsey is really up on things. Ha!

I've been meaning to post about my trip which is just a month away! I'm going to be flying down to AR on Sept. 19 and my trip will include: visiting with Abigail(get to meet Beth and Erin too! :)), attending Pamela's wedding, and then flying out to VT to visit Ruth again. I'm so excited and am really looking forward to this trip. I was going to come back on Oct 1st but then about a week ago the airlines called and said they overbooked my flight so I'm coming back on the 2nd now. Another day at Ruth's will be fun. :) I've been getting a few things together since I don't have as heavy a workload due to my hand. Usually I leave packing and such until just about last minute. :P :D Thankfully I'll have the splint off my hand for a week before I leave!

Erin just arrived...

Sounds like you'll have a fun trip:) Aren't splints awful! You never know how much you use your hands until you can't. I had gotten a really bad rope burn on the back of my hand after being dumped from my horse last week. I couldn't really grip anything for a several days. Anyway, good luck on your trip!

Ahh, rope burns are painful!

By the way, is it ok if I add you as a friend?

Sure, I added you too.

Btw, I'm just curious how you found my journal as I see you are new on here? :)

I found your journal by searching under Interests. I had one other blog on LJ but needed to get a different account.

He grew barley this year. He'll be using it to feed the calves in his feedlot.

It is the very NW corner in AR. I'm excited! :)

Are the Hutterites a family you know or? Your trip sounds like it will be a really fun one. Someday I hope to be able to do some traveling, see other places in
the country and people I know.

The Hutterites actually live in colonies around here. Usually they have reasonable rates for working because they have the equipment, labor, etc.

Yeah, traveling is a lot of fun! :) Especially visiting with friends. :)

So they are a specific people then, I see!
